Playing Games #1

I think 2020 will end up being a big year of gaming for me. Blame the virus lifestyle or the comfort that I have found in my life. This blog will be updated from time to time with my game reactions. Standard fare. Perhaps it can grow into something greater.

Let’s do a quick recap.

Platforms. I got a PS4 and Switch for the house. This means that I now have PC, XBOX, MOBILE, SWITCH, AND PS4 bringing experiences to the table.

PS4: Final Fantasy 7 Remake is a disappointing. Just make a better looking and playing FF7. The ghosts got me to quit the game early. I am glad I got a PS4 for it.

Mobile: King of Fighters All-Star. It is the gatcha that got me. I haven’t spent money yet…

Switch: Brings the family together. House Mario Kart sessions. Tetris 99 is GOAT.

PC: I play League of Legends from time to time, but hands cramp up after two games. Bummer city.

Gamepass: This is what Xbox is now is it is beautiful. This is the reason I really wanted to collect my thoughts. I have been taking a deep dive into its catalog and I have thoughts.

Here are my quick thoughts I will expand on in the future of the future.

Spiritfarer: Just started this over the weekend. Powerful, cute, and fun.

The Messenger: Baby come back! I never should have quit this game the first time I played it on the Epic game store. It is amazing from start to stop.

The Turning Test: I finished it in a day. I dug it. I will chat about its wonderful tone.

Forager: I was compelled to play this game. There was a an urge. This was a night job. I have better things to day at a later date.

I got the step up out of my system. Let’s go…

VIDEO: Promotional Video for WFMD|Doc Geiser’s

WFMD needed to film a video to promote the upcoming half off gift certificate sale for Doc Geiser’s Carryout And Catering Frederick. I handled the concept, filming and editing for this project.

Our goal was to show off the menu, the location and create content that could be shared on Facebook.

VIDEO: Spoof Ad for WFMD|Renn Kirby Mitsubishi

Remember the old Matthew Mcconaughey Lincoln commercials? We pitched a local car dealer on the idea of spoofing those bizarre ads by using one of their new cars and a local landmark.

The filming and voice over was handled by our morning talent and the sales rep who pitched the project.

I edited footage to match the voice over and music. This was a one day project.

Under Construction

September was a decent soft start for this site and my side business. I restarted this WordPress account, had two clients and started upgrading my home studio. October is going to be so much more.

Main Goals for October

  • Complete this site. I need to make the best of the 2014 theme and find the right plugins to make the most of it. This should be done by October 15th.
  • Complete all work for hire profiles. Upwork has been a success for me and I will have all other services filled up by October 7th.
  • Inventory my home studio. I have a ton of new software and equipment that needs to be posted on the site. I also need to budget for more improvements that make sense. I should have this done October 2nd.
  • LinkedIn Learning. I have been taking classes on LinkedIn to help fill gaps in my expertise. I am mostly self-taught and this is the first step of a bigger project to add legitimacy to my work experience.  This is an ongoing project. I have finished Blogging for Your Business & Insights from a Content Marketer.
  • Book more work! I had a strong start, but I slowed down while waiting for repeat work. Never stop promoting and creating proposals. Everyday.

I will be doing a mid-October check in to see if have I been keeping pace.

Side Projects

  • Hosting audio? I don’t want to depend on using YouTube with a static image to share my audio work. I need to sit down and pick a service for this. Voice123’s player don’t post on WordPress so that is a dead end.
  • Andy Arkham! A friend of mine is putting together a 1920’s style live event and I have volunteered to produce content for it. I plan on outlining my work and ideas on this site.
  • Make a video. I haven’t produced an edited video in my free time in over a year. I have better tools and I need to use them.
  • Camera? I had a nice video camera that was destroyed when my house flooded. Do I want to look into seeing how far down that path I want to go? I should at least do some reading.

Restart. Rebuild. Revoice…

I wonder if people use the term Revoice? It sounds like rejoice. It could be a brand name.

I am working on a few other service pages, demo taps and actually have a 100% home solution. More on that later.
